Hey whats up guys... Just got back for 2 weeks of R&R from Afghanistan, and my wife surprised me with a new 09 TRD PreRunner Double cab! My only thing is she didn't know that All TRD's aren't 4WD... I am happy with the truck, I just want to know did I get ripped off by not getting the 4WD, or do I still have a good truck. This is my first Toyota, and it has been a truck that I have wanted for a long time! Look forward to the info and fellow owners on here!

if you like it, then you have what you want.
prerunners are nice and you can do same things with them or almost as you can a 4x4

RIP to my 08 Prerunner DC
Welcome to TW from TX. Your prerunner is extremely capable. With a little work you should be able to keep up with the 4x4s no problem.

    Welcome!
I've got a buddy that always says "If you need 4x4 then you don't know how to drive". So don't worry about it, I've had 4x2 for 6 years in my past vehicals. I think i've only used 4x4 a few times??

First warning: Stay away from throttle body spacers. We have Direct Port fuel injection so they are useless on our vehicals. Unless you want to spend 100$+ for a purdy whistle sound.

First upgrade: Which direction are you wanting to take your truck? Racing? Off Roading? Mall Crawler? Show Truck? Asthetics or performance?
