Years ago after wearing out an International Scout and a V8 CJ7 I moved up to a FJ40. I lived way back in the woods in northern Arizona and on the 15 mile dirt road home I had to cross a river at three ford crossings. Sometimes wanting to really get home I pushed it to where I could feel the vehicles slightly going sideways from the rushing water but i never lost it. This was the type of "road" that if I showed you a photo you would say "where is the road". I eventually cracked the box frame on the International but the oblong rivets on the FJ40 let the frame flex. It was the best built 4x4 I owned though my current H3 with 35" BFG/MT's is excellent also. I am wanting to get back into Toyota's via a Tacoma.
When I see the Taliban driving them all over Afganistan I know why- they are strong and tough! It is nice to see the Taliban go up in smoke but sorry to see the Tacoma's go.
Anyone know of a 2003 -ish Tacoma in Arizona (4x4 and auto)?
