Hello everyone. Just found this forum online in the last couple of weeks and decided to join in on the discussions and personal experiences. I had been the owner of a 2000 Pre-Runner SR5 2WD with 91000 miles on it and was ready to keep it several more years. I just had all the 75000 PMs done on it and was feeling pretty good about the truck, so I went out and bought a brand new set of Michelin LTX tires for it at $800 (less $70 rebate) and thought I wouldn't have to worry much about anything major for my truck. Last month, I took it into Toyota for a routine oil change and had them do a 100 point inspection on my truck. Long story short, they found rust on the frame and wouldn't let me leave with it. They told me Toyota would call me for a settlement amount and got me a Hyundai Sonata for a rental car until Toyota settled with me. I just got my settlement letter and got $12,840 for my old truck. I was expecting a little more based on some of the messages I had read on this forum, but I just went with the flow. I managed to get some junk tires from around town and Toyota is going to get the brand new tires off of it before it goes to the junkyard. I just found a 2007 2WD (Indigo Ink) TRD to replace my old truck. It has 75000 miles on it and it is in perfect shape and is loaded. I got them to sell the 07 for $17,000 total OTD (out the door). If I could throw a couple of questions and get some feedback from everyone. 1. Did I get a fair settlement for my old truck and 2. Did a get a decent deal for my new one?? Bottom line is I traded up 7 years and it is going to cost me $4000 and a new set of tires (if I can't find anyone to buy them). Thanks for your feedback and have a great day!!

    Stock. Purchased 2/17/19. Cement!
12K for the old is great. 17K for the 07 is probably 2K more than I would have paid, but it just depends on the truck. IDK. Congrats though on the truck and welcome to TW.

    NICE!

I see the 07's go for 20 or more all the time out here. I saw a Prerunner 4 door last weekend go for 21.5, They hold their value pretty dam good.

Do you think I can sell the tires easily from the old truck?? They are the metric version of 275/75/15. They don't even have the blue off of the white letters yet. My new truck is 265/70/16 (not 100% on middle number). Are these tires more expensive than the 15s??

You should be able to sell them, but I dont think you'll get close to what was paid. Cant hurt to try.

Did okay with the old one, but $17K on an 07 2wd Access Cab was high. Maybe $13-14K Maybe! But hey, you got a nice looking Tacoma and as long as your happy with it. Also, does it have the V6 4.0L or the 4cylinder? You said TRD, but it has steel wheels. I thought all TRD had aluminum wheels. Did you check it against www.kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book)? I guess none of this matters now, but welcome and have fun with it!

Don't know all the details of your truck, but KBB shows an 07 Access Cab with 4 cylinder and 75K miles at around $16,000. I'd say you did ok.
