    Hello Guys and Gals,

    Just thought I'd introduce myself.
I just recently purchased a 2008 Acess Cab Tacoma in 4wd with TRD package. This will be my very first truck, after coming off a 2001 Lexus IS300 that was totaled last week. This will also be the very first vehicle I purchase entirely on my own. :)

I am looking forward to meeting many of you, and hitting some fun trails. As of right now, it's bone stock. So far my only plans for future mods, will be a small lift, and bumpers. Nothing too extreme, as this will be my daily work truck as well.

    Cheers

    Welcome from Ohio.

Good to see someone else "see the light" and go from luxo-sport to truck.

    Traded in my 2007 G35S for a 2011 Taco.

I have had trucks before and it's the one vehicle you will ALWAYS miss.

Enjoy your new truck. And the weather in SoCal. Snow sucks

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

I am hoping to hit some beginner trails next week, does anyone have any suggestions? Being that this is my first truck, I am just looking to get a taste of the dirt- not anything serious. Don't want to get stuck anywhere.

How about a 130 mile road - The Mojave Road - from the Colorado River near Laughlin to a little east of Barstow? Certainly not hard core 4x4, but interesting and a good learning trail. But if Soda Lake is wet - don't even try it with 4x4. A two day adventure.

Guide book available probably on Amazon? - The Mojave Road Guide by Casebier - 20 bucks.

Some of it is pretty remote so best to have two vehicles.

I will have to wait until next weekend Granda. Sorta tied up this weekend.

I'm a little nervous about offroading, since this will be my first time. I've driven down smooth fireroads before to mountain bike when I had my Lexus though.

Is there a primer on proper trail edicate? I'd hate to be the jerk that's ruining it for everyone unknowingly. lol

Hopefully I can make it out to a trail run with you guys soon. It would be awesome meet some new people.
