    @ I liquid I.
They dint do anything except change the oil, and use 5 cans of black spray paint ( that ran all over ) to make it look shiny ! It is very apparent that NO safety check was done with the vehicle in the air, and that is the ONLY way to do one. When my mechanic put it up, and shook the tires, the right lower ball joint was so loose, you could almost pull it out by hand. This infuriates me to no end !!!!

So you bought a 9 year old Chevy with 100K+ miles and you are surprised that it is falling apart? Then when those of us smart enough to buy a quality truck question your decision, you call us idiots.

"...Toyota has gotten stupid with prices." - Ever heard the phrase you get what you pay for?

"I buy used trucks because I travel and fish tournaments all over the US..." - Most folks who drive all over the U.S. buy new trucks so that they have something dependable to travel in; you bought a worn out Chevy truck.

I'm really not sure someone with this type of logic should be calling anyone an idiot!

Yes they are a vendor here, and they wrote above that they DID do a safety inspection on this vehicle, when in fact they did not !!!!

You understand that as far as everybody else here is concerned , it's your word against theirs , we don't know the real story , except what you have told us .

You may be a crazy person for all I know , not that you come across that way ..... just saying .

OP, they are not a vendor, someone is f-ing with you and went through all the trouble you did and created an account just to piss you off more. Breathe easy and relax, I think it is safe to speak for all TacomaWorld members that we will not buy a used Chevy from this dealer.

This thread is stupid. If this was a Tacoma in question the response would be totally different. Not sure why it's any different with a chevy but if the OP got an unsafe vehicle, no matter what kind or age, the dealer should fix it. It doesn't matter if it's a 1983 Geo or a 2010 Caddi. If it runs well it should be sold as safe from the dealer. Then it's on the purchaser there after...

Although I feel your pain, with all due respect sir, you are making allegations against a legitimate buisness (La Grange Toyota)in a public forum which will no doubt come down to a "he said/she said" your word against theirs issue that can't be proven, what can be proven though is that you made possibly libel/slanderous statements against the company in said public forum . Just saying to choose your words & platform to make your grieviance carefully....just my $.02

PS I'm not saying you're not right please understand that

Oh well there's one in every crowd jjew. I guess you had to be in my shoes to feel my pain and frustration.
    @ TacoU
It was an 02 shortbed Z71 4x4. Pretty rare. I searched for 3 months before I found one that looked halfway decent. Not all chevy dealers have these trucks sitting around and all of them would love to have them because they are in big demand !

No doubt due to the durability of thier ball-joints.

I cant imagine buying a used vehicle with 100k miles without making a real effort to inspect myself thoroughly. anyone who goes into a dealership expecting 100% honesty gets what they get. NEVER assume its been done, especially something so old and with so many miles. and especially a Chevy truck.

In case you can't read between the lines I just gave you some pretty damned good advice. Now if you have this mountain of evidence to the contrary then don't waste your time (or ours) Save your energy for the courts, go after them , hard. Hey I said I felt for ya, it sucks what happened to you, I didn't imply like some that its YOUR fault for not checking yourself, hell you can reach down & twist a tie rod for excessive play by hand & that alone can give a clue to a loose front end glad your done ... good luck

Very amusing read, I hope every thing works out.Does GA require a annual safety inspection? Here in NY this would never happen on a dealer sale.
They would have to fix it .No questions asked

If the balljoints were so bad it was dangerous to drive he would have noticed it when he test drove it AS IS means when you leave with it its yours not bring it back in two weeks after you drove the hell out of it
