New guy here, no Taco yet

Hi all--
I'm brand new here, perused the site as a visitor, hope to find more answers as a member.
I'm in the market for a DoubleCab, AT, V6, 2wd truck. I found a 2009 model, but it sold about an hour before I went to go get it.
So, question for you guys...did Toyota stop making the DC 2WD? If so, when? Toyota's website forces the DC to be 4WD in it's "build a Tacoma" section.

Any help would be appreciated.

they still make 2wd DC's...you must be selecting the off road package...that forces it to be a 4WD. You can choose the base SR5 package or sport package and it will be 2WD

 

Prerunner package is also 2wd

 

Plenty of new DC 2WD 'PreRunner'/ Off Road TRD Tacos around here... 4WDs are pretty rare.
