New Member. Trying to nurture a 1995 4cyl 5sp 4x4 15"original alloy w/31 Mickey Thompson Bajas. Finally got 2" of baked on Arkansas mud off the underside, cracked winshield replaced, better exhaust installed. This will be a combo work/hunt/fish/hand me down to a 12 yr. old son. 166,000 miles. Advice on making it last forever?

    Welcome to the forum

I had a 95 Toyota truck like yours right before the change to the tacoma. It was an awesome truck & I put 177k on it, sold it to a friend who put another 75K on it, who sold it to a friend...unfortunately the rust kills everything up here. You are more apt to keep it going strong being in TX. My older trucks never needed anything but normal maintenance.
Maybe replace the timing chain? I believe the 22RE had a chain, mine had a belt (V6) & change out the water pump while you are in there.

I also remember idler arms. Mine ate idler arms other than that gas and go.
Congrats! Post up a pic if you get a chance!
