    Hi All,
Last new truck was in 1984...guess that dates me. Just bought a new 2011 toyota tacoma prerunner. Prior vehicle was a used 91 trooper 4wd. This one is 2WD but fine for what I now do (dirt roads and such, no more moab 4 wheelin'). I've had it about a week now and find it is a computer /w wheels. I'll be asking a few questions relating to what the dealer told me and whether it is true ot not. I pretty much will keep this until it dies, or me. My first visit on this site will be to how to get rid of the buzzer lock/unlock.
    Cheers,

Just bought the 2011 tacoma access cab last week. Doors were locked. Got out of my old rig, went to get in on the passenger side w/key to get someting out of the glove box. No key slot in the handle! Anyone know why that is? There are a couple of other questions that'll be coming as I get used to this vehicle after having the 91 trooper 4WD.
    Thanks for any info.

Thought I had the record with same truck for 19 years.

Cheers and this will get you started, clipped from the cheap mods index.

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know if it would work w/a 2011. So I found the beeper under the hood and got two cotton balls from the bathroom. Jammed one in the speaker hole and the other as far as possible. Took some electrical tape, taped it up and ...no more beep (really just barely audible at the truck door).
I'll possibly try the other way sometime down the road.
    Cheers!
