Check out my matching rides!

So my brother is a big tacoma junkie. He suggest I get leveling kit and slightly oversized tires and call it a day. I agree, this is my new daily driver, the subaru is my track queen. Recommended tire size for suggested set up please.

From what I understand a leveling kit only lifts the front end to match the back. And I need some good recommendations for fuel economy, comfort, and price. (Not to mention I want the cool looking big tires)

If you put on the cool looking big tires you'll go down a little in MPGs. If you want something simple and affordable but comfortable ride look into Old Man Emu (OME) or toytec lifts. With a 2.5-3" lift youll be able to fit a 285 tire with trimming of the inner wheel well.

Tire size should be good just get a good set of michellin tires ...

For leveling I would suggest upgrading shock 2 bilstein 5100s .. Theses shocks are ajustable so u can use them to level the truck out

I recently got approx 16 mpgs, 70% of driving from around town. And its a 4x4. In order to run 285's would i need to lift the rear??

ok. and if you’r 4x4 i would lift rear too. truck should be sitting pretty level as is. leveling is more for 2wd. because the front it a bit lower.

bottom line...

a leveling kit can be spacer or billistein 5100s. basically lifting only the front 2"

265/70 16 is stock and 265/75 16 are the next size up. If you want to run 285/75 16 you will need to get aftermarket rims or 1.25" wheel spacers. You could run 255/85 16 and not need the spacers.

actually the front on a prerunner is higher (less weight)

you dont need to lift the rear to clear 285s
