Hello everyone, I am new to the site and am thinking about buying a used Tacoma, just trying to find the right one. I recently sold my 03 Dodge Ram and miss having a truck around. I have found a 2001 DC prerunner that seems to be in amazing shape, but it has 209000 miles on it. The seller is asking 7500 for it but I may be able to talk him down. I am wondering since I do not know much about the trucks other than what is said on here if I should go for it or if I should keep looking. I am college student at UGA so this will be my primary vehicle, but it wont be driven much except for going to some mountain bike races and traveling up to the mountains to do some camping. I do not plan on doing any hard offroading with it, just towing a little fishing boat and maybe some dirt roads. Parking around town is so terrible that it is useless to drive most of the time. Just looking for some input. Thanks!

    neglect, mostly.
I just wouldn't buy a truck with that many miles, tacoma or any kind, period. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a great truck for you, but that's my 2 cents.

Yeah, be patient and keep looking, you can find a better deal than that.

Thanks, that helps out a lot. I am also looking at a 2000 4cyl prerunner with 116000 for the same price. Just do not know about the power of the 4cyl as I have never driven one.

I do not think it is really settling for the 4cyl. It is a tough choice, I am gonna go look and test drive the truck and go from there. I would really like to find a 2001 -2004 instead, but I am not going to rule anything out.
