Gas Mileage

What do you know about computer chips to improve gas mileage. I drive primarily in the city. A change to synthetic oil and a K&N filter has increased my MPG from 18 to almost 20 but I would certainly like it better!

 

I am guessing that you have the 4.0L V6?

"Chippping" in the truest sense of the word is dead. Reprogramming and Signal conditioning are much more common on newer engines. I would suggest talking to someone at www.urdusa.com or any other performance shop to see what your reprogramming options are. 20 MPG out of a 256 HP 4.0L engine is pretty good. Especially if it is a 4WD quad-cab. These engines are made to haul and play - they still get the best mileage in our market for their capabilities.
