So my inherited car has 175k on it with suspension going downhill. I have been researching trucks for a while now..but I have pretty much some down to two possibilities..Frontier/Tacoma..but looking way more towards Tacoma since my dad has a 1994 toyota truck with almost 300k miles on it and it still runs great.

I am a bit ripped apart on what year would be best for me. The only modification I would probably plan to do is install the radio deck I installed in my current car, and if the speakers are crap..maybe look at that..but that might get too complicated for me to do. Rather not rip apart a new truck I just bought. haha overall, I kind of gave up trying to pinpoint a year because 2001's seem to be a bit rare around here.(at least in access cab..all i have seen is double cab) I perfer the old look(xx-05)

    neonlazer,

A few words of wisdome. Do not accept a truck with Dunlop Gran Trek AT20 tires. You will just end up replacing them after only a few miles at your expense. I am not certain what tires would be on a Prerunner, but you do not want Dunlops.

Another update, they ordered the truck this morning! In Nautical Blue like I originally wanted! It is a special order as they don't make it in blue normally..so at least it will be a unique truck! Gonna be 120-180 days tho :l..maybe shorter(I HOPE)

Darn, pickups at factory aren't allowed..guess ill get it at the dealer when it arrives..shucks! I wanted a factory tour then drive home in what i just saw being built..that would have been sooooooooooooo cooooooooooooooooooooooool!

Ok ladies...part of me wants to change it from SR5 4x2 to base 4x4...Anyone know if they can cancel an order if toyota hasn't even accept it yet? My dad originally was an absolute no to 4x4 cause "I don't need it" but recently I told him that I will regret not having it in the future cause well..ill be one stuck melon :p (quote from bolt :D ) So..Ima talk to my dad tonight and might call salesman tomorrow. Might be without foglights and some other stuff..but I think having a base 4x4 will make me happier in the long run since you can't upgrade to it from 2wd :p Just thought I'd see some opinions!
