2010 toyota Tacoma it will be a year old on December the second month we had it a bad smell was coming from the passenger side floor board like old socks. This has been going on for a while and I've cleaned the carpets. If I let the truck sit for a week or two the floor on the passenger side is wet. Today I noticed a puddle on the same side I took a hose and soaked the windshield down no leaks I hit the firewall and holy crap water started pouring in from the a c lines and the heater core lines I pulled the carpet up and water was over flowing from the rubber floor grommets. I pulled the rubber plugs out and the whole inside of the double layered floorboards were filled with nasty black rusty water and it stunk so bad I almost ralphed. It's at the dealer and they can really give a shit someone please tell me my next step I talked to someone that works for allstate and they said its not repairable water damage mold and soon it will rust out someone lead me in the right way please

I had a similar occurrence in my 03 base model Tacoma. It ended up being something in the AC unit. They claimed it was a "normal wear and tear item" and since I was younger (like 20), I just accepted that and paid for it. It ended up being like 400 bucks parts and labor. It only happened after it rained and only when I turned left (presumably the water would slosh to the right during a left turn and thus end up in the floorboard).

Don't let them trick you, it's not a wear and tear thing. No other vehicle I've owned (new or used) ever did that, especially under 80k miles.

If the ac drain is clogged, say like with spider webs or something, then it's not warranty. However, if it's pinched it should be. That's what it sounds like is a clogged ac tube.

Also start a thread in the 2nd gen section your issue ie...water on floorboards leaking from Ac or something like that. Not everyone reads in the new member section or answers questions. As others said, open a case file with Toyota 1-800 to light a fire under your dealers or go to a different dealer especially if under warranty.

Welcome to the forum too. Sorry this has to be your first post!

Hey guys it only floods when the truck sits for a week or too then the floor is flooded the only reason I found the leak was because I hosed the firewall down . The whole floor board is flooded from from the front seat all the way to the back seat (double cab) when I turn the air on it drains properly right from the passenger side front frame rail this truck has stunk for awhile and all my friends call it the trailer queen. Not a scratch on it. I think it's time to bust her cherry and take her off road

Hell if it's "nasty black rusty water" and there's even a sign of rust penetration in the sheet metal, I'd be looking to Toyota for a replacement truck. They have a 5 year / unlimited miles rust perforation warranty on the sheet metal. I'm assuming that would include all sheet metal. Of all the intermittent problems I've read about Tacomas, leaks into the cab from around the firewall and fresh air intakes seem to be one of the more common ones.
