Hi I have a 2002 civic si with 98k miles and am looking to trade for a tacoma. I found one i like and he is down for a straight trade BUT his truck has 157k miles and is a 2001. fair deal? I realize these thing go forever and still hold alot of their value. I will post pics of the truck this eve when i get off work.

    Thanks,
    Geoff

Without more info on the Tacoma it is hard to give you a good answer. I went to Edmunds.com and did a quick value search of your car (guess color, condition, etc) and then compared it to a Tacoma XtraCab, 4x4 , V6, automatic (using same color and condition as civic) and found only about $100 difference between the civic and the Tacoma I entered.

Its a Tacoma, so the mileage is NOT an issue at all!

If you like the truck, I would go for it. Maybe ask for a trade for 2-3 days to verify it is what you want.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you end up doing.

If it was me ... I would look further. 1st indication was the paint job... I always ask my self why did someone ruin a factory paint job... Maybe a wreck? Idk but your car is nice and it will sell like crazy with the mpg... Id sell it outright and find the one you want. I prefer unmolested and in factory condition so I can do the mods I want and know that they are done right.IMO

Not really unfortunately.... Most in the 90-110k range I have seen in our area are like 9-11k and thats the older 1st gen ones from what I have seen most with that milage range in an 01 for example I see go for like 9-12k

I recently just bought a tacoma and I came to realize that they are not cheap what so ever compared to other similar trucks no matter the age on them
