Hey Ya'll !! NCBooger here. I'm in East Central NC out near Raleigh. Not exactly a noob to Tacomas. My first was a 95 model Xtra Cab. Absolutly loved it. Bought it in 97 and put over 100k on it before having to get rid of it in 2005. Ever since then I have kick myself for selling it.:annoyed: I look back and think now that there must have been another way to have kept it. I just didn't see it at the time. Now I have fixed that stupid move.:yay: After 4 months of searching:pccoffee: I got me another keeper. A 2002 Xtra Cab. V6, Auto, 4x4 !!! Picked it up December 31st. One owner (besides me) only 43k miles on it and all of the service records from the original selling dealer!!! :bananadance:And the best part...I didn't pay near retail for it!!! Less than half of KBB!!!! Although I did have to drive 290 miles just to test-drive it/ buy it...Silver Mist Metallic with a Grey interior. Not my first choice on color but it was in the top 3. Mostly stock except for Enkei Wheels and Rhino-Liner. Theres a few things I need to change though. I already put a cross-bed toolbox on it. And I added a GM universal keyless entry kit on it. Only because the RS3200+ kit is nearly impossible to find. A K&N filter element was added 2 days after getting it. And the battery was not reliable so I put an Optima in it too. It needs tires. The fender flares are missing the rubber mouldings that are supposed to be on the body-side edge. The Xtra Cab window latches are broken. I'm working on getting my parts to add heated mirrors. Might change out the split bench for a set of buckets.
I don't post alot but I do read. And if I have a related idea, thought, comment I will post. Probably not much I could say that others already haven't.
I am an auto tech for GM. Been turning wrenches for almost 30 years on Toyota and GM. If I can help anyone, I will, simply ask.
