2008 FJ Sun Fusion "the Short Bus" is getting traded in for a 2012 Taco. My past Toyotas go back like this... 2012 Taco, 2008 FJ, 2002 4Runner, 2003 Tundra, 1993 MR2, 2000 4Runner, 2000 Tacoma, 1989 PU...
My wife had a 2000 Celica for 7 years and is picking up her Prius V on Monday.
Love the Toyotas! Oh what a feeling!!!

Thanks to all of you. I'm going back to the Tacoma for a number of reasons.
1- I never meant to buy the FJ. I had an 02 4Runner previously and was going to the dealer to test drive a low mileage 2007 4Runner to replace it. Mine was going to need brakes, tires, a radiator and exhaust and had just turned 105kmi. I drive a lot for work and need to BR sure I'm not stranded anywhere. Well, I drove the 2007 4Runner and hated it. The new body style was SO much bigger and I felt like I was driving a sofa. The FJ was a leftover 2008 with a sticker at $31500 and they were willing to sell it for $28000. Sold!
I loved most of it, but I'm tired of school bus yellow, poor visibility, premium gas (apparently only 2008s require it) i am a weekend warrior home improvement guy ( requires a trailer for most lumber yard runs) and I'm just ready for a change after three years.

2- I want to like the new 4Runner, but not 40 grand love it, and most people seem to say it feels under powered.

3- No Tundra. Too big, too much money

4- Rav4 is too small and wont tow my boat.
The Highlander; Im just not ready to grow up that much yet.

And finally, with doing a deal for my wife to get a Prius V also, I had been in contact with 4 different Toyota dealerships. The one that I wanted to deal with was a day late on the Prius deal, so I told him I would give him first crack at the FJ Tacoma swap. Tacoma was a $32 sticker and I am looking at a $10k difference. Assuming sticker, they are putting $22,000 in my trade. This means I drove it for three years for about $200 a month. Pretty sweet IMHO.

Probably more info than any of you wanted, but I love the Toyotas and figured I'd share!

Also loving the forum. Spent last night reading 47 pages of posts on caps / covers and camper backs.

my friend has a ’11 fj and loves it.

i know it would not be low milage. but 1st gen tundra? ’00 to ’07(i think) dad has a ’00 and not real problem out of it. about the only thing is the seat belt wont go back like it use to. has over 200k and the 2nd week of jan made the 650 or so trip to eden NY. and back. mom and dad did not hesitate to take it even with that milage. we have had other toyotas as well. we still have mom’s ’87 corolla with over 300k

So, first things first... Blackout or debadge? We all know it's a Tacoma, do I need a chrome badge on the door to remind me?
    My FJ got debadged immediately.

I liked the 2000 and 2002 4Runners best. Love the body shape and size, obvious Toyota reliability, and that rear window that retracts into the tailgate. That was key with my dog, and picking up lumber. Miss that generation 4Runner
