Welcome blutaco06, I was down in VA., this summer, stopping in the Culpepper area and down to Maryland and up to Bass Pro Shop and back into Silver Spring MD.

Yes, I'm what you call a genuine native (rare these days). There use to be places within five minutes to go 4 wheeling, but alas development has reared its ugly head and those places are now Malls. There are still the Outer banks NC, but mud and hills are way more fun than sand.

You picked the right place to ride. Fall is particularly awesome.

I'm a VA native too but probably but too new to wheeling to remember when there were open trails. The only places I've heard of are in the jefferson national forest around harrisonburg and shoecreek. check out the tidewater thread (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/south-east/22124-calling-all-virginians-tidewater-area-52.html). I think they're taking a trip to shoecreek august 28th.
