I've seen a few threads about Dual or Single exhaust lately, and I've been wondering about what type of exhaust to purchase. I personally like the look of both type of exhaust.. I'm fine with Dual or Single.. My thing is Which brand would be better? TRD or Flowmaster?

I recently put a TRD exhaust on my '12 V6 and I am very happy with it. Looks clean and sounds just right for me. Do not expect any gains from this exhaust though. It's purely for the looks and low rumble. I have a pic in my gallery if you want to take a look. Its a scratch-n-listen pic so feel free to scratch away.....

And another thing. There is a significant price difference in TRD exhaust compared to getting a shop to weld on an exhaust for you.

You can't go wrong with TRD or Magnaflow. Had them on two different Toyota s. Both v6's. The catback on the magnaflow goes from 2" (or so) entering the muffler to 3" on exit on back, with a see- thru muffler. The TRD muffler looks like a stock muffler but that's where the similaritys end and both brands have nice oval tips on their catback systems.

Now given...I know its a truck and blah blah blah but when you have to raise your voice in the cab to talk to your passenger at highway speeds...it gets old!!! Its handy when me and the misses are fighting though :p

Flowmaster ALWAYS sucked-I put one on my Jimmy with a v8 back in the early 90s and wound up changing it out after 1 month. Wasted all that install labor cost. As one who reads here more than posts OP, I will tell you that Magnaflow is the favorable one.

I had 14" oval Magnaflow put in with turn down tip. Sounds amazing and cost fraction of what TRD exhaust costs.

Flowmaster has horrible design IMHO! It is not straight through design like magnaflow...

got a flowmaster amercian thunder catback setup on my truck right now, ofen times thought about changing it out. what would be a good magnaflow muffler (i.e. part number) to go to? i see most here are bragging on them so which one would be a good fit for me? just would like the muffler only and take it to an exhaust shop to have it welded on. thanks
