I am new to the Tacoma world and and hoping for some advice. I recently found a beautiful 2004 Tacoma double cab 4X4 TRD for sale in my area. Truck has very low miles and is straight as a pin. The problem is it has a WA rebuilt title. It was hit on the front right and it looks like the frame has been repaired . I don't care about resale so much as safety and longevity. The price is at 13k. Thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

I assume that you think 13K is outrageous?

i mean taco's are taco's, but i can't believe how high a salvage title carries, or at least people think they should carry.

was the frame professionally done? if not i'd move on.

Yeah I would never pay 13k for a rebuilt title unless it was like a 2010+ dc 4x4 with 20k miles on it.

Eventhough there are some perfectly good salvage/rebuilt vehicles out there, unless that price goes down personally I would walk away from it. And don;t let him pull a "well its a rebuilt so its just as good as a clean title" stunt on you.

How many miles are on the truck?

13k is high for a salvage.
My '08 RC Base 5-lug was $13.5k clean title 53,000 on it.

Granted, it's not a DC 4x4 TRD, but it'd also 4 years newer and that price was from a dealer.

I was looking at a 04 dc 4x4 trd OR that was CLEAN with a snug top and side steps. They were asking 18k for it, and said I would be able to take it for $17k which I thought was still high. It only had 60k or 65k on it.

I think you can go lower on the price easily. Yes its a "toyota" but being a rebuilt title gives you a major edge on the price.

At the end of the day you're not the one stuck with the truck anyways so if you walk away from it its no skin off your back.
