I will be looking up information as I can, but I need more info. Manual or automatic? What size engine? Thank you.

Are you following the proper procedure?
According to service manual information, you must press in the switch when changing into low gear. Others feel free to correct me if I am wrong, as I am only going by what the service manual says.

If it beeps initially when putting it in 4L, take it out of 4L, and switch it back into 4H. Drive forward and back a few feet, put it in neutral, then switch it to 4L again. Repeat.

Once 4L beeps, it won't try to engage until you go back to 4H and neutral, then back to 4L again.

EDIT: You have a manual trans. Refer to others with a manual trans.

The clutch has to be all the way to the floor, even in neutral.

And when he says all the way he means push it as far as it can go. There's a pressure switch that you have to hit. Completely stopped and clutch all the way in and it'll lock in low
