    Greetings
Last night i parted with my 07' Ford ranger, for a 2012 base access cab v6 4x4... a multi purpose truck. DD'er, Commuter, Windsurf beach transport, and snowboard duties during the winter. The ranger left me stranded twice at my place in VT and i kept my eyes out for ANY Taco Access cab 4x4 v6, one popped up and i bought it...
    planned mods...
its a base model... so i need to do the wiper switch upgrade
    - light window tint
    - surf racks over bed
    - reinstall my Qi45 Radar
    - reinstall Kenwood KDC-X995 amps and speakers
    - reinstall LED bed flood lights
    - buy tonneau cover
going to be a busy month

I will say, this truck rides WORLDS better than my 2007 ranger. they are night and day. I love the tacoma so far. My plan is to stick with this truck for the long haul.

good to be here im going to start searching now!

You will probably want to do the tailgate mod to prevent it getting stolen, I think its stickied. Take care if it and it will take care of you for many miles. You made a good choice.

It's a simple pipe clamp over the passenger side of the tail gate. Makes it impossible to remove it without removing the clamp first.

If you don't install a clamp someone can steal it in about 10 seconds.

Oh and Welcome from Camden County.

speeeaking of tailgates here... i took the tailgate apart to mount my bed extender... i saw wires going to what i thought was the latch. i was surprised as i assumed i had discovered that the tailgate locked with the power locks... but this morning i realized the tailgate does not lock. so what are those wires for inside the tailgate??

    completed yesterday:
    installed Access Tonneau Bed Cover
    installed fold up tailgate extension
    installed rubber floor mats ;)
installed above bed rack system (same system used on my old ranger, roof rack over the bed rails)
windows were tinted by Coastal Window Tinting in Toms river whos always done a great job on all my cars... we did 35% in the front.

    Very nice!
I prefer the black flares on the base truck. They look great!

I guess I'll have to do the tailgate mod as well.. If the thief has a screw driver with him are you screwed? :D

Just get one with a key instead of a slot for a screw driver. Thats what I have. Most scum bags aren't carrying around a socket set. Either way it is just a deterrent, but it will take them longer to steal it. Most crack heads won't take the time to do it IMO.
