I've been perusing the forums for the past month or so since I got the Tacoma and so far love both the forum and the truck. Like my name suggests I've grown up around diesel pickups, semi's, and tractors most of my life so moving to a midsize gas pickup was a bit of a jump for me. God knows I've already been given hell from all my diesel friends, but I think I'll survive. I've already done some minor stuff to the truck but am looking forward to making it my own with the help of you guys of course.

I would kill for a diesel Tacoma, I just love the ruggedness and reliability of diesel motors, but from what I hear Toyota's can be equally as reliable and tough. I am going to miss the power gains from simple mods like intakes and exhaust of diesels.

Yeah I started out with an old 6.9 Ford in Highschool, then moved on to the mighty 7.3 Powerstroke (which I loved and drove till the wheels fell off), and then finally I saw the light and bought a 2003 5.9 Cummins. the torgue that thing put out was unreal it felt like I could rip a house off its foundation with that truck.

rubi sliders, 3.5" lift, HID headlights 35" nitto terra grapplers and the best... spider web shade

they actually tore down a house on top gear with a ram 3500, but it was the newer 6.7l... I had a 03 5.9 with banks racing kit and stacking boxes new valve springs (cant remember everything..) ats tranny i remember the banks racing kit had a new intercooler and a larger turbo, the exhaust was a six inch after the downpipe and had a turndown on it under the bed, ran the low 12's in the quarter mile and towed my 48ft. big tex wedge trailer with the 5ft flip out ramps (car hauler think automotive transport) it's a shame i had 1 accident with it hauling a mercedes in a covered trailer and my name in the auto transport business went down the tubes, lol totaled the mercedes, my trailer and my truck was fine... but i couldn't get any business and the truck was repossessed... so i ended up joining the army... someone got a helluva truck from that auction... lol
