Man, I never thought I'd be back in a Tacoma after going to the Tundra. The Tundra is an amazing machine, just too big for me right now. I don't need it, so I opted for the V6.

Its a long, long, long story why I sold it in the first place, but thats not important.

I picked up a 2012 TX Baja Series on Friday.

Now I know what you're thinking, because I said the same thing. 40K for a Taco? Wheres the crack?! Anyways, "benefits" worked in my favor and left the dealer with it for what a loaded TRD Off-Road would go for, with 0% Financing. High Five Toyota.

Within 24 Hrs. the graphics have been removed. :D (Thank God)

I am pleasantly surprised by this little guy.

I am on the fence about the exhaust... the Taco doesn't have much for sound-deading... So it can get a little annoying, but the JBL Sound helps take care of that.

Coming from the Off-Road Racing scene, I know a thing or two about suspension, especially what works best with the Toyota. TRD did there homework, that's no ordinary Bilstein up front, its much lager in diameter than say a stock stock, or a ride height adjustable shock. The stem is also even bigger than the stock shock on a Tundra. Also, like the raptor, the ride height can be adjusted to 3 Different Levels. (I haven't confirmed the 3rd Position, but can see it has a lower position than the factory setting which I am assuming in the center or 2nd highest) More on that later.

It rides like a lifted truck, its not a luxury car. However it handles well, and is surprisingly comfortable on most decent roads.

    Likes:
    - Its good looks, and capabilities.
    - Sound System + Navigation, woulds well, sounds great, easy to use.
    - Homelink! No more 15 gate, garage openers everywhere.
    - Easy to drive, easy to park.

    Dislikes:
    - Graphics, if it didn't say Baja they might be tolerable.
    - TRD Badge looks like I painted it in my basement after a couple of beers.
    - All Weather Flooring, might as well have laid down some black trash bags. The fit isn't very good, and it makes it a bit louder inside the cab. It doesn't look very clean, looks cheap.

I picked up a 30" E-Series Light Bar with 2 Colors (Outside White, Inside Amber) when I had the Tundra. It fits like a dream on the Taco. (I only have the white wired right now, need a second switch)

I mounted it by drilling a hole in the aluminum bumper horns.

    Future Plan:
    - 285/75 Tires (Looks like they should clear no problem)
    - Leer 100XR Shell

Thank you, I would normally "make it my own" with other parts, but work is just too busy right now and saving for a money pit- i mean home.

Worked for Camburg Engineering for about 2 Years, left in Feburary.

Toyota's were my niche, I guided the buyer through the entire "Wolf-Hunter" Project... He basically gave me complete control to build it how I would have if it were my money.

Congrats on the truck, good to see you stuck around TW. I guess I should stop saying "just give Camburg a call and ask for Jeff or Scott" you helped me a ton when I bought my stuff from them, thanks again

Not 100% on that, if you look at the edge of the tire right before full lock, you will see it's about an inch off of the mudflap. But regardless, it shouldn't be too much trouble. Worst case, you ditch the mud flaps.
