    im looking to get my first Tacoma VERY soon, have been reading this forum for a while now and have learned alot.
    I could be guilty of posting a VERY common topic....4 banger or V6??

    welcome from TN. and go DAWGS since we suck! lol. i say V6, other than 265/75r16 nitto terra grapplers. i’m stock 4x4(TRD off road) i get about 18 MPG mixed driving. i could get better if i changed my driving a little....

    Thanks...I am just outside of Columbus GA.
    The Tacoma would be my DD, i will never tow anything but my concern is hauling my tools in the bed..im guessing around 300/350 lbs at the most, well thats a guess. I want to get a tonneau cover, im about done with tool boxes and keeping my tools dry when it rains is a plus. So yes MPG is a factor in my choice, i would say 70%hwy 30%city oh and it will be a 1st gen :D hoping to keep it for a long time.

    Sounds like a 4cyl would work fine for you. But I would go drive both and see which one you like better! I'm in statesboro most of the year and mcdonough throughout the summer. I have some family down in Columbus though
