welcome, it should be underneath the drivers side door bolted to the frame rail, on the inside side of the frame.

IIRC V6s have them on the frame rail, for the 4 banger I think it's under the exhaust manifold.

you are correct, i googled it because i wasnt sure and came up with this:

The filter is on the driver's side, under the air intake manifold. It is mounted to the engine block and has the typical banjo fitting. It's your typical black cartridge type filter. Toyota says they don't need changing. It will take a good 1/2 day to get it all off and back on. My mechanic said he would show me, but wouldn't do it. Told me to take it to the dealer if I didn't want to do it. I tried to replace the filter and the front fuel line is pretty easy to get to and also the filter bracket (a little tougher) but the fuel line on the back side (towards the firewall) I couldn't even get to and just put everything back together and gave up.
If you remove the starter, it will gain you the room needed to remove the rear fuel line. Then just remove the two bolts holding the fuel filter bracket, and out she comes. It was not possible for me to just losen the bracket and slide out the filter do to lack of room, this whole job only took about one hour.
