Any years not to buy?

Im in the market for my first Tacoma and my price range in in the 2005 -2011 years. I have my eyes on a double cab long bed. Is there anything or any years I should stay clear of. I have heard the 2005 was not the best year (not sure if this is true).

 

Are you planning on lifting ?

 

No no lift. I don't really off road much. I would be needing to haul stuff sometimes. How much tongue weight can these trucks take?

 

Might just be my dumb luck, but i've owned the first year of the last three models and had nothing but typical Toyota quality. '89 pickup, '95 Tacoma, and now a '05 2nd gen. I always buy used but try to find the one-owner oldtimer owned diamonds in the rough. They are out there.

 

Don't know the exact figure but be prepared to replace and/or modify the rear leaf packs. The stock springs are notorious for giving out early.

 

Ok thanks I drove a 2005 and a 2007 with around the same miles on it and the 2007 drove nicer and the engine seemed to run smoother. So I figured I would ask. Probably just depends on previous owner. Thanks for the advice.
