I've been a long time reader of this and some other forum's, but just joined because of my latest upgrade project (a FJ Cruiser T-Case swap). I bought my 08 Tacoma TRD OffRoad new off the showroom floor, and within a month was putting on weekend dirt miles in the trails through the training areas around Ft. Bragg. First mod was a CAI and TB spacer. After some trail damage to the paint job I first went rattle can flat black, and quickly upgraded to bed lining the truck. No more tree branch scratches. Next came the 6in lift and 35in tires, and I was putting my truck in the dirt almost daily on my way home from work. A break from the fun off roading to do the unfun kind over seas, then back home and the Taco get a new exhaust. Shorty headers, high flow cats, X-pipe and flowmaster Super 44s. The move from NC to PA (got out of the Army and started attending WyoTech) brought some problems for getting the truck to pass inspection (tires can't extend past the body of the truck). So some baja front flairs, and the stock bed came off in favor of a farm style wooden flat bed...longish story on why that was needed. In my Motorsport Chassis Fabrication class I ripped off the wood bed and started building my current tube bed with some frame boxing for good measure. I'm in my High Performance course now, doing a twin stick FJ Cruiser manual T-Case swap and putting a Air Locker in the front end. I'll have some pictures up soon, and look forward to being a part of the Tacoma World Community.
