Hi, just thought I should quit lurking and introduce myself as this site keeps prompting me that I haven't posted! I have been reading the site as a non-member (sucks cuz you can't use the search feature) but after looking at several Toyota sites, decided to join here!

I have had almost every truck made (still have my first, bought when I was 14, a 65 Chevy SB on a 4WD blazer frame) except for Toyota. Not sure why cuz I have been wanting a Tacoma for several years! Possibly have been deterred since they're kind a pricey!

Anyway recently sold an 06 Dodge cummins that I no longer needed and started looking for a Tacoma. My range of options was fairly small. Wanted the silver to match the wife's silver Lexus, wanted the DC in case we ever have kids, can't live without 4x4, and wanted color matched flares, bumper, mirrors, etc. I did not care if I got first gen or second gen. I have heard great things of both.

After 2 months (approx) of searching, I found a 2006, double cab, TRD sport, 4x4, silver mica, with 56K. It was a one owner listed on AT and in excellent condition for $18500. I caught it the day it was posted and the owner was nice enough to trust me and hold it for me almost a week (I had to fly to chicago area to get it.) He ended up letting it go for 18 even (super nice guy.) He was turning around and buying a brand new one in the red color set up exactly like this one.

The sale went smoothly and I drove the ten hours home that day while falling in love with the truck. I had never heard of TW but googled something about tacoma lifts and stumbled across it. Now I have spent way to many hours on this site already. Wife says all you do is set their in your recliner with the laptop:)

I have lifted and modded other trucks and am looking to do something to this one as well. Last one modded (not last one owned) was a Chevy 2500, duramax, 4x4, that I put a 6"fabtech lift on. I am wanting something more subtle for this one, think I like the 3" I hear everyone talking about.

OK, enough about that, I look forward to using this site to help me figure out the mods I want to do!

Awesome! I'm in a smaller city (about 20K) 40ish line guys with two stations, fixing to build the third. Combined with EMS about 13 years ago so were all cross trained at some level. Love the job to! Speaking of that gotta get up at 6, my day on tomorrow.
