    Had GM's all my life. Never owned a non-USA vehicle. Taking the plunge with an 05 Tacoma. Got to this forum looking for the difference between TRD off road and TRD sport. The needed info was immediately before my eyes. I think the sport will do altho I favor the offroad. Nice to have a friendly, informative place to go with questions about your ride.

    Hey, thanks for the support. My wife got me to make the switch. I havnt even picked it up yet. A Craig's list deal, I gotta get to Denver to get it and that is over the top of the Rockies and the weather just took a turn. A weeks worth of fronts moving in,so I get to test its lousy weather performance immediately.
    Didnt think people would even be reading new guys blather.

    my first toyota was a 91 pickup 4x4. i still use it today as my trail truck and have never had any major problems. my friends give me shit for owning a toyota, but the're just jealous because i have to pull their jeeps out all the time. you can't get any more dependable than a yota.

    Hey, thanks for all the welcomes.So many cool signatures and photos, hope I can get it together as good.
    Question (am I in the right place for this?) I'm looking for an 05 Taco TRD and wanted an off road, but the perfect one came to my attention, except that it is a SPORT. I wanted to know if it would do for me since I work in the forest, pull a 16' camper trailer and am on dirt much of the time. Since tire size, trim, and rear dif seem to be the main differences I think it will be OK. Anybody have a thought on it.
    And what about the limited slip vs the lock. I really dont understand the pitfalls of one over the other. Any help there?
