Started lurking when I was researching my next ride a few weeks back. Ended up picking up a spanking new 09 4X4 OR double cab in white. Price wasn't an issue, and I test drove every 4 door, 4 wheel drive full size and mid size pick up from every manufacturer, except Dodge (didn't even bother) and decided to go Toyota. The Tundra was just too big, and kinda fugly. As soon as I drove the first Taco I knew what I was getting. It's rated to pull all the toys I have, has decent stock off road ability, and gets around town as well as any car. Room for four, decent acceleration and power, and is as good or better looking than anything out there. Plus, I am tired of my Fords melting down as soon as they hit 100K. I am married, no kids. We enjoy anything outdoors: hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, hitting the beach, camping, etc.. We had to have something able to pull our recreational instruments around with. We have a 21 ft. pontoon boat that we like to camp, fish and snorkel from, one of the last Polaris Virage TX's made, and three 14 ft. fishing boats that stay down at our small fish camp in the boonies. If not out some where, we like to hang out, grill Presently my other vehicles are an 02 WS6 T/A convertible, an 01 Ranger, and a 95 4X4 GMC Jimmy that we keep at the camp. I'm probably gonna dump the Ranger or drop a V-8 in it, as the motor is on it's last leg, but the rest of the truck is fine. The Jimmy is a keeper, with only 60K on the odo, and it looks maybe 5 years old, definitely not 15. I'm planning on keeping the Taco pretty much stock for now, but find this forum full of good information and good folks.
