I been eyeing to get into a Tacoma for years. I finally picked one up last week, and I have to say I'm in Love! I've owned Honda's for years. They got me where I needed to go, but the pleasure wasn't there. I'm officially converted!

I've pulled the stock radio yesterday and installed my Sony. Sounds Great!

My next two projects will be:

Install intermittent wiper arm (part #8465204141)

Install power door locks with keyless entry

My baby is a base model which it just fine. I can add the extras i want, or at least die trying! lol :)

    Welcome from TN!

edit: If i would you I’d look into the viper alarms. maybe a little more money then what toyota has but much better IMHO. also you can get them with 2 way remotes(the fop will beep is someone is messing with the truck. also can get remote start.

I’m about 90% sure it is.

also i know that on the vipers the fob will peep/vibrate if someone even tries to open a door.

My dad has a ’00 tundra and not long after we got it.(we got it new) he had the toyota one put in and i have seen it fail a time or two. and not go off like it should. Idk if the newer ones toyota uses is any better or not.

Awesome! Did you DIY or have it installed? Was it apart of an aftermarket alarm? I have had a viper in another vehicle along with power lock actuators. The alarm started to freak out after a year. Randomly going off. Had to disable it, only part that worked correctly was the door locks. Looking for something that will last a while. Never had remote start though..

    Welcome!

I too went from driving an '01 Civic to the '11 Taco. I still am a Honda guy though, now just a Toyota guy as well. I currently own 4 Honda's still: '07 Accord Coupe, '02 Shadow Sabre v-twin, an '04 XR250, and can't forget the mower (yup, Honda too).
