very low gas mileage

Hello everyone,
I have a question,
I got a 2013 Toyota tacoma,
Prerunner 4 cil,
I am getting 14 milege for gallon,
I bought this truck to save some money on gasoline,
I took it to the dealer to be checked
And they were saying that it's nothingt wrong with the truck,
I want to know if other Toyota brother's has the same problem.
Why do i getting very low gas mileage from my truck?
Tank you for reading my post.

How far are you usually driving per trip? Short trips kill gas mileage as the engine isn't very efficient when it's cold.

well, how is your right foot, heavy, light, medium? was he truck loaded with some weight?

driving habits have a lot to do with it, you could get an ultra gauge and follow your MPG via the display and modify your driving habits for best mileage...

how many miles on the truck? they usually need a 5k(?) mile break-in period to get more efficient.

Yikes! The gas mileage does get better when these break in btw. Welcome btw! My co-worker has same 4cyl prerunner automatic and gets 21-23mpg every tank.

I have a v6 4x4 and I get 16-18 so yours will improve.

Rico that sounds like horrible mileage. It has to be the break in period. I have a v-6 and I'm very heavy on the gas all day long and still manage 19-20 MPG with combined in-town and highway driving. Good luck to you!

Whoa I get about 18.5 average round trip to work and that's only 15 maybe 20 miles so round trip like 35 miles maybe and the way home is mostly up hill and that's all city driving..

And that's just setting a my UG on the trip setting, Leaving it on after filling my tank a couple of times I getting about 20mpg average.

She probably just needs to be broken in..
