Greetings! My username is new here, but I've been lurking around since I bought my first '94 Tacoma. Unfortunately, I am a dope and sold that truck.

So here we are... I've got the urge to buy a more recent Tacoma. I've got my eye on this one:

    http://www.bochtoyota.com/toyota-vehicle-details.asp?user_id=74018166&stocknumber=T66420A

I absolutely HATE dealing with car dealers. I went down there yesterday to check it over and take it for a spin. It's very clean, engine looks brand new under the hood. Only 18k miles.

I'm trading in my wife's 2007 Altima 2.5S. Title in hand, perfect condition, 84k miles. Out the door, I've got a price of $19,500 from them. Is this a good deal? I offered $19,000, and I don't think I'll budge. I just want to know if I'm off my rocker.

Also, are there any items to look out for on the 2011 Double cabs?

    Thank you!

PS. Mods, if this is the wrong forum, please move to appropriate area. :)

If you can get them to $19k out the door, inclusive of all taxes, fees, etc. I think you're doing pretty good!

Seems like $19,500 is a good deal, my 09 with 14,000 miles was $22000.

Yeah, I forgot to tell you, when I found mine I beat somebody else to it by 10 mins, we had both actually signed a purchase order for it but my salesman beat the other guy to the general manager. Around here used tacoma's don't stay on the lot for long, if it's what you want I wouldn't let $500 get in the way of buying it.

I've got a double cab long bed "Sport", and I'm selling it for $20,000 to a relative. The Blue Book is a lot higher- yours sounds like a great deal.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Pull the trigger on it, its basically a brand new truck.

Or... Just buy a new one.

    Thanks for the input. :)

I'm from NH, so no tax for me. Just a "doc fee" for $395.

Are you saying $19,500 after trade in? KBB says your cars fair trade in is $6,442. So this seems like a good deal. You could duel with the dealer over $500 or just jump on it!! I think $500 equals $10 a month over a five year loan.

Yeah, that's including the trade allowance. I give them my Altima, plus $19,500... and leave with the Tacoma. :)

You could say your Altimas good trade in value is $7,567. Tell them to make it $19,000 and drive off with the truck. Either way, its a nice truck and you should buy it.

I assume the frame rust issues were resolved by the 2011 model year?

That's what I had assumed. If you can walk out at $19k, you did pretty good. At $19.5, I agree with the comments above, I wouldn't lose that deal over $500 because even at that price, you still did well in my opinion.
