head gasket 4.0

    Working on a friends 4.0 two wheel drive. Taking off the heads on account of the gaskets on drivers side #6 (PO306) is leaking. Trying to take off as least as possible. So far I don't have to remove engine cause its not 4x4. but the timing cover I can't skip. I'm hoping I don't need to remove the oil sump (pan). Anyone with experience, or knowledge, chime in. Thanks
