    Hello fellow members….!!

Long time lurker but don’t post as much as I’d like, but wanted to take a moment and introduce my 2013 Tacoma DC 4x4 TRD Off-Road.
This isn’t my 1st 4x4 nor my 1st Toyota, BUT it’s my 1st Pick Up….!!! The truck is amazing it had 1 mile on the OD when I bought it found this cool, as I’ve never seen a car/truck with 1 mile on it. Trucks got the entune JBL/ Navigation package as well as the TRD Off-Road Package.

Now a question, I really haven’t searched so don’t bash me too much. LOL…!!! The truck didn’t come with the tow package (RANDOM), so question is, adding a tow hitch for VERY occasional towing do I need to worry/do anything in particular since the truck didn’t come with all the extras Toyota puts on the tow package trucks…?

No big deal. Tow package comes with a stronger alternator, trans cooler (atx only), 7 pin hookup (4 pin adapter). If you don't really pull much it's not an issue. I've pulled a compact car on a uhaul dolly with my friends 2wd non tow Tacoma from Orlando to Miami and back no problem.

Welcome! I was under the impression that the tow package was standard on TRD packages. I guess goes to show, you can find any combo.

No. The TRD packages only effect the cosmetics (graphics, bumpers, scoop), suspension, wheels, and a couple accessory options like the sport seats fabric and the 110v power outlet. Towing and other performance items (ie exhaust) have to be specified an ordered separately. You can order the tow hitch only (sans tow package) with TRD if you like. A coworker of mine actually did that but by mistake because he thought that hitch stood for the entire package due to language barrier (he's Japanese).!
