I have a 2013 Tacoma and the fuel door hinge is rusted on the bottom and rubbing on the body. I brought it to the attention of the service department yesterday and was told that someone must have leaned on the fuel door when it was open and bent it. They know there is a problem and has been a problem for years with the design, why must they insult ones intelligence with that kind of response. I got a quote of $50 for a new hinge and install from them and I barely have 10,000 miles on the vehicle. Anyone having better luck getting them to admit it is a poor design?

I have a problem with mine staying closed and it also touches the inside on the hinge side when closing or opening. I agree it seems like a poor design.
