I bought a 2013, 2.7L access cab prerunner, SR5. It was used with only 4k miles but it was what I thought I wanted. In 2004 I bought a 2.7 prerunner and loved it but I had to sell it when I moved to the mainland from Hawaii. So missing the old Tacoma I was happy to find a 2013 prerunner 4cyl at a decent deal.
So here is the deal, I am really starting to think this thing has 3.58 gears. I actually thought the 4cyl prerunners and 4x4's all had 4.10's but apparently not. The Toyota website says it would come with 3.58's and it feels like it does, it feels slower than my 2004 w/ 4.30's.

Did you get a good deal on it. Perhaps you could sell it and even make a little extra$ on it.

I'd def. think that 3.58 is too tall for a 4 banger, & after going to a bigger tire... I mean,,, forget about it, it'd be a real slug on road...

I took the assumption that it was a 4.10, I thought all the 4cyl prerunner/4wd were. I never asked if it were otherwise. I like it otherwise, I can tell it feels underpowered compared to my ultra low geared 04. After the warranty is up I am go to 35's so I will be regearing otherwise.
I haven't confirmed that it is 3.58. I don't have a convenient place to jack it up and spin the wheels. Can anyone confirm that 4cyl/auto access cabs are 3.58?

    Well, I am turning 3000rpms in 3rd gear(auto) at 65 mph so I guess I do have 4.10's. What a relief!
