    Hello, I just bought a bare bones 2013 Tacoma with a 4 cylinder manual trans. (Manual windows, locks, mirrors) 4x4 and I love it. Funny thing, the 05' Dakota I traded in on it, when I bought that Dakota new, I was looking for a Tacoma like this. Glad I found this forum!

    4 cylinders, manual tranny and 4WD is the way to go! When I was looking for my Tacoma that was the criteria. Simple, solid, efficient and reliable. Next time you're watching the news and you see some Toyota Hi-lux in Afghanistan, the Australian Outback or South Africa ; remember that simple Toyota DNA is well proven and works in PA too!
