I just bought my second Tacoma double cab. My first one carried me from 2003 - last week and down 279,000 miles of road. It's been handed off to my 20 year old son so he can put the next 200k on it. My new one is a dark blue TRD. it's amazing how much more comfortable and roomy it is.

I forgot to mention that my old truck still runs great, cranks every time. Used synthetic oil it's whole life and have ALWAYS burned premium. i've run premium mostly for the improvement in acceleration. Got 145k out of the original plugs and just about the same out of the rear brake shoes. The only mod has been a cold air intake using a K&N filter.( at around 75,000 miles.

The new truck is infinitely quicker and i'm happy not to have a timing belt to worry about any more. i just don't like the change to a serpentine belt.

I'll post pictures of old and new trucks soon.

Not to worry, it's easy to inspect and change. Look under the hood of a Honda Accord or CR-V, then the space around your Tacoma's serpentine belt will seem like the Grand Canyon.
