So... I guess i have to post here...

Anyway, after parting from my 96 Taco about 6 years ago, i decided to get another one. So i got a '13 Taco SR5 4x4 dbl cab and now the fun begins. And by fun i mean shopping for mods. I am only into off-road desert racing. Been following the SORE series for about 15 years now. Been to all 3 races in Baja every year up until 08. So now i will once again be back for this years Baja 1000.

So i will be looking for suspension upgrade with the appropriate size wheels and tires. I will start small and work my way up to full blown long travel.

DO you think those are better than the Fox? I am considering the ICON Ext. Trav.

Your truck is sick! I'm starting off with 285 BFG AT's on black Method Double Standard, Undecided if going with the Fox with Remote Rese or ICON with Camburg UCA.

This is an expensive way to do it since you'll have to replace parts multiple times. It is ultimately cheaper to go long-travel directly.

Welcome fellow off road enthusiast! :woot:

So it sounds like you want to start off with a mid travel kit before you get into a beefier L/T kit? Sounds good, just thought I could give you some options Camburg offers, that might just work for you.

We have quite a few mid travel kits all depending on how you would like to use your truck and how much you are wanting to put into your truck.

Usually what I would suggest is our 2.5 Performance Kit as an awesome all around kit. It comes with our bigger 1.25" uniball UCAs, 2.5 coilovers and the Bilstein 5100 rear shocks. This is perfect for a daily driver with some trail and off roading. The Bilsteins provide a plush ride on the street and trail versus the stiffer FOX shock. Also, because our Camburg 2.5 c/o is specifically designed and valved to compliment our upper arm you will be getting the max wheel travel versus other c/o. This kit provides about 10.5"of wheel travel and 2.5" of lift in the front. We suggest you run a 33 size tire with a 16 or 17x8 wheel.

We not only build our products in house, but RACE on them as well!
Let me know if you have any questions and I will help ya out :D
We also offer a TW discount ;)

On another note...... I'll be pitting down in Baja for the 1000 this year as well. I am a BAJA ADDICT! :taco:

Actually, i live in Phoenix and i already visited SDHQ out here. I would love to go L/T right now, but i dont think im quite ready to for that just yet. I was thinking mid travel. I was looking at Fox coil over with RR just to get enough lift to accommodate 285 75's on 16'. They suggested ICON ext travel that goes 0-3" but i would need an UCA, so i chose the Camburg uca. So at this point i am undecided on what i want to go with. I have expensive taste and right now i also have a cheap budget lol. Really not sure i want to get that drastic when its still under warranty.

This is my commuter truck and the only real off-roading i do is when i go out to baja. ( as a spectator of course) and occasionally some mild trails here in az. Im a all or nothing type-a-guy, but in this case, since i cant afford the long travel, im thinking just go 265's. but at the same time i cant leave it stock.
