new taco in town - Miami, FL

hey gents -

I'd like to introduce myself... name's Andy, and this is my first truck.
Been a vw guy pretty much my entire driving life. In fact, this is
my first non-vw vehicle in 17 years! I still love my german engineering,
but I got this burning desire for a truck about 6 months ago, I locked eyes
on the 1st gen taco, and there was no turning back.

Few of the things on my list - had to be Radiant Red, had to be a double cab
so I could bring the fam, and needed to be packin' a 2.7 3RZ so it could be
somewhat efficient (for a truck).... unfortunately, (as I found out) all DC's
are autotragic, so I came in knowing it would eventually have to convert it -
but not a big deal, as these trannies are readily available, and I find these trucks to be perfect for my uses in every other way.

Apparently, Tacomas with this particular combination of items are not very easy to track down! I don't mind shipping for the right truck, so I took the search nation-wide.... even still, I did not find "the one".... Then one day,
out of nowhere, I was driving around a warehouse district in Hialeah, and BAM! this red beauty slaps me across the face with the beautiful words "FOR SALE" etched across the rear glass. Needless to say, I hit those brakes, jumped right out of the car and worked out a deal with the owner right on the spot. A few days later, I brought the stallion home.

Wrapped up all the paperwork & pulled the rig out for the first time today -
all I can say is I f******* love this thing!
