First time poster and member. Hope this is the right forum.

Never had a mid-size truck yet. But debating between a 2011 Dodge Dakota or a 2011-12 Tacoma?

Criteria: I drive an hour to work. Ballpark mileage of 20,000. Hoping for an mpg around 20. Probably a v-6 with 4wd, 5-6' bed. Need full crew cab. Sounds crazy, but I work nights and often need to nap before or on my way home from work because I just can't make it w/o falling asleep. So I need the legroom and ability to recline as much as possible and rack for an hour or so to take the edge off.

Haven't test drove anything yet. Only looked on the internet so far. Was thinking of the Dakota until I starting seeing some Tacoma's. Look like the only two fitting the bill. Can you get caps for the Tacoma beds?

Also, I thought I saw something about a driveline problem with the 2012's. Anything I ought to look out for?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions?

I really know nothing about Dakota dependability, but I wouldn't trust one as far as I could throw it. I'd say there's a reason they quit making them.

Stay away from the Dodge - you'll regret it if you don't.....

The only problem with my 2012 Access Cab is the well known driveline vibration at 20 mph - otherwise I love it. Yes you can get a cap for it.

Depending on how / where you drive you may get 20mpg - I get 19-20 if I keep it under 70 mph.
