I just purchased my first Tacoma and it happens to be my first truck. I previosly had an 04 explorer 4x4, so I'm very happy with the huge upgrade. I was initially going to get a tacoma with the SR package in Barcelona red, so I had an appointment with the dealership and they dealer traded the truck the day before I went in. And of course, they couldn't find any more with that package that they could get. After some bitching, I got hooked up with the TRD sport and couldn't be happier. I didn't do much off roading, beside rollin out in the Apalachicola national forest to camp and hit the occasional mud pit, but I plan on dong a little more once the engine gets broken in.

The spruce mica is an awesome color, and I'm very impressed with how it looks in different light. I'll post some more pics of the truck in the sunlight.

I think the front end looks mean, especially with the hood scoop. You can kinda see the glimmer of the spruce mica in the sunlight, it's a different color every time I look at it.

Which way do you go into the Apalachicola NF? I'll be there later this month for a day or two, and probably going to head out there via Tallahassee/Crawfordville.

I usually go out to dog lake tower road and then get myself lost on some forest roads. There is also some nice fire lines to romp around on. If you go down crawfordville highway heading south, there will be a road called L.L. Wallace on your right and that will take you to some forest roads and power lines. It's mainly sand and some mud holes in the road, and a few washed out sections. But you have to be very very careful! Because pretty much every pond out there is protected under the federal wetlands act and you will be looking at a very hefty fine! I almost made that mistake in my Ferd exploder, but luckily I got stuck on a trail before I made it to the pond. Needless to say, the sheriff deputy that patrols out there on a wicked 4 wheeler had a nice talking with me. In my defense, the trail was not marked with any federal notices, and the deputy was fairly light hearted, but looked like Rooster Cogburn and was smokin a big ole cigar.

Thank you, I'm a proud new father! I was looking at that color too, very attractive! I wasn't sure how the sport would compare to the Off-road, but I don't plan on doing any rock climbing with her. Just some clay and sand and definitely some camping. I've yet to even get her dirty.... Might do so this weekend.

I mainly just head out there for the unattended shooting range. However, since the range doesn't allow shotgun, we have to go off some trails to get to a clearing. We've had a lot of fun on some of the trails, but you just have to be prepared for some custom pin striping. Luckily, it usually will buff out.

Yea I hate the sound of that "custom pinstriping."
I've seen some crazy stuff out at that range... Kids not knowing how to handle a firearm.

I've seen it too. Then there's always the question of who had the bright idea to shoot up the bathroom. Maybe they just wanted more natural light...

Someone once warned me to never shoot all of your ammo while there. Always good to still have a clip or two remaining. However, it was usually empty when I went.
