First post on this site but I've been lurking for months. I have to say this is hands down the best site for all things Tacoma. The builds I've seen are incredible.

I bought my first Tacoma about a year ago. It's an 09 PreRunner with $17k in mileage (base model). I wanted to get the 4 wheel drive but I found this one for about $18k after trade in so I couldn't pass it up. I had a 1990 Ford Bronco and a 2000 Ram 1500 before, and this is by far my favorite.

Right now I am looking for things to add to it, starting with tires. Currently I'm running crappy Dunlop grandtech AT20s (275/75/16) and I'm looking at bumping up to some all terrains at around 285/75/16. Being that it's not four wheel I don't plan on crazy off roading but I would like to take it out camping and not have to worry about it. I gave it the eye test and with the wheel all the way cranked it has about three inches of clearance so I think I should have the room for it.

Anyway, I respect any opinions and feedback on any other mod suggestions too. I'm just trying to get some ideas so I can save up the cash.

Thanks in advance and here she is:

Yeah I was considering doing some spacers too, but the cost of them is pretty close to what I have been told I can get wheels for. My buddy manages a Big O so if I can get the wheels at the same time I probably will. It all comes down to the budget

I really like your build. I have a camper shell for mine too, but I took it off. With the small tires, I thought it looked like an old man truck lol. The tires make a huge difference.

Thanks man. Didn't think I liked it at first, but it has grown on me. I am planning on blacking out the lights to make a better match.

I should find out about the wheels in the next day or two so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
