2013 Tacoma automatic downshifting

    My 2013 Tacoma downshifts while descending a hill. Ok no problem yet right? Wrong!! I was descending down a steep hill and applied the brakes slowly. The truck downshifted but I was on ice/snow. The braking power went to one rear wheel because that's how it works. The truck went sideways and almost crashed. DOWNSHIFTING on slippery roads are very dangerous. I can't believe Toyota did this.

    Yeah I talked to another guy on here and he had the same problem with his 2013 Sport Automatic. He disliked it so much that he traded for a 2014 Offroad 6 Speed. He'll probably post on this thread. . .

    I try to slow down prior to being on slippery slopes by manually downshifting and / or braking

    Also suprised that if you got so sideways that you almost crashed that the VSC didn't kick on

    I was wondering about that too.... I dont have any of those systems so I couldn't comment much.
