    Hello!!
I just bought a brad spankin new '13 Tacoma. It replaces an '02 that I loved, but decided to part ways with. It's a grey TRD T/X Pro, V6, faux beadlock wheels w/long trail tires. AND...it's Auto(wife wants to drive it too...) I'm "New" to this forum although know how they work as I use a popular Triumph forum for my motorcycle mods.

I'm beginning a search for a modest lift, 1.5-2" in the front to get some larger off-road tires in there. Appears there are many ways to do this. Thinking new coil overs. I'm off to go pour through old threads and posts to try to piece this together.

Would love some suggestions and or help in getting myself pointed in the right direction, popular mods, Senior members, Moderators? Pics to come soon, it's dark and cold here in Boston. Cheers! and Merry Christmas!

If you want a lift that small and something that wont empty your wallet looks at Bilstein 5100's. They go from .85"-2.5" of lift on the front. You cant raise the rears with them but if you want to raise the rear then you would need an AAL or block.

Now if you want to go more the expensive route then there are a lot of good suspension lifts out there but most run from 2.5"-3"s of lift.

Unfortunately commuting for the most part. There are some nice fire roads and gouged out dirt roads West of here that I would love to tear down. I'm not looking to turn it into a rock crawler. However, It came with a Diff. lock and I'd love to put it to use. Some aggresive off road tires and suspension mods are at the top of the short list. Are the bilstein shocks these things have made to last? It certainly rides sweet now, it's only got 1000 miles on it.

Are the stock bilsteins adjustable? I honestly haven't been under the thing yet. Wanted to get 1000 miles on it before I started looking to change things,

No the stock Bilsteins are not adjustable. Well it sounds like you wont be doing a whole bunch of off-roading since its still your daily driver so 5100's might be a good choice. All they do is compress your front springs to lift it so your ride will be a little stiffer but nothing terrible. Its just a more cost effective way to go. I still put on a good suspension lift on my truck and I dont off-road as much as I want too. If you got some money to spend I'd say go with a full 3' suspension lift cause you love your truck dont you?....so might as well put good parts on it instead of trying to save a dime and go with an "OK" lift.

Check out toyteclifts.com and browse on there....you will get a better idea on prices too.

Sounds like the 5100's reduce downward travel to 1" at full extension... Time to start saving for a proper build! stickies on this forum are picture perfect!!! Nicely done! And look, a New England section! Frozen people! I feel right at home.

Icons are sick....just really pricey. I got super lucky and won a pair of rear Icon reservoir shocks and I love them!! Rides like a Cadillac at highway speeds!!
