Hey guys! Been a member here since July and just lurking around. Have had my 2012 Tacoma for a year now and the dealer gave me a life time warranty on the power train. I'm at a crossroads because there is so much I want to do to the vehicle but the contract strictly states any modification, alteration or change to the preprinted terms and conditions of this limited warranty is invalid and of no force or effect. I'm kinda mad that I got this warranty because my logical side is saying don't do anything to it.

Review with the dealer any changes you'd like to make to your truck.
Let him tell you whether the changes would affect your warranty. Let
    them make the changes.:D

Contacted the dealer with my questions. I'm afraid of what the answers will be. I also asked about service because in the warranty it states that service records shall be kept current and made available at anytime during a claim. I am planning to do the maintenance intervals myself after the free toyota maintenance is up. I'm concerned they will want toyota to perform all service to keep warranty valid, if that's the case then forget it. The money spent on the chance of some major part failing isn't worth it.

Howdy everyone. I've been browsing this site for a year or so now, lots of good knowledge, experience and sexy trucks here. Finally registered and figured I'd go ahead and carve my name in the road here.
Name's Kyle and I managed to get lucky enough to find an 06 4x4 DCSB Sport 6 speed with 29,800 miles on it this past May for a pretty good price. I'm currently overseas but looking forward to lots of mods when I get home. First order of business will be a CAI followed by a lift (probably 3", still working on that) and some 285 70 17's.

Hello fellow Tacoma owners! My name is Charles from Senoia, Ga. I have owned my 2001 Tacoma V6 4WD since 2003. I have visited this site for a while now and appreciate all the help you guys have offered. By using this site I have learned how to diagnose engine codes and even fixed a few (most recently the P0420.) My Tacoma has 189,000 and is still running well.

Hey ya'll, I brought snacks, would anyone like a snack?

Was on the truck hunt for about 8 months and lurked here the whole time. I've had a couple trucks before buying my tacoma, actually took my drivers test in a 98 ram 1500. Currently live in Manayunk (Philadelphia) and parking is tight!!! I'm a truck guy so naturally i ended up with the baddest mid sized on the market.

    Just curious, not trolling
What is the draw to huge rims like that? The ride must be wicked harsh.

Hey all, I am back for the first time. I just got a new Toyota Tacoma. I previously had a used 2008 Tacoma PreRunner, the previous owner kept it parked under a tree so it had a roof made of sap and he/she had small accident in it which made it difficult to get it aligned. It was also hard starting some mornings. Well, we got bills paid off with taxes and I picked up my first brand new vehicle and my first 4x4 truck...

First, I really like the truck, but yes, I have seen the threads of everyone trashing the truck for various reasons.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/223113-tacoma-xsp-package.html

I agree that the hood scoop is crap for being a stick-on, and I am not into the flashy vinyl stickers on the sides, also I am not into the chrome muffler tip. However, I do like the LED daytime running lights in the front even though they do look a little cheap, they are bright and a safety feature that doesn't have a negative impact on performance; with some of the other drivers that are out there I will take the LEDs to help keep me out of a wreck. I like the synthetic leather "all-weather", IF they make clean up easier.

Anyway, lets move on. I want to improve it.

    How can I?
Can I overwrite the computer "nanny" that restricts the motor?
Remove the hood scoop sticker, without ruining the hood?
What other modification ideas are out there?

I am finally the proud owner of a brand new car payment! After 5 years of putting it off I finally bit the bullet and bought the worlds finest truck.

...and after spending ridiculous money, now I get to spend even more on accessories! SO, I created a TW account, surrounding myself with enablers. :annoyed: Thank you tacomaworld for helping separate me from my money and helping me live the American dream! :oldglory:

Love the site, and I look forward to adding to it. :headbang:

Enjoy the pic of my 2013 DCLB TRD Sport Barcelona Red:

Nice rides y'all (that's right, another TEXAN). I'm also a former JEEPER (I like stirring the pot if you can't tell). In all fairness though I can almost say with 100% surety that I've been converted. My cousin's 98 4wd 4-banging taco on street tires kept up with my heep all day long. Time for a change of scenery I suppose.

I bought a 2003 Taco TRD 4x4 v6 bone stock (not for long) with 90k miles on it and am looking forward to no longer J(ust) E(mpty) E(very) P(ocket)'ing my money away... Giggity.
