Hey yall, I bought my first new truck, a 2013 Tacoma DBL Cab TRD Sport 4x4. I love it. New to this site and looking to make a few mods on my truck in the coming months. Thinking about adding a bull bar and maybe changing out the exhaust...

Hello Everyone...I received my 2013 PreRunner Double Cab last night from the dealership which is about 5 blocks from my APT. So...I don't have much time in the seat but from what I have read and my test drives, this looks to be a good vehicle. I will make my first 400 mile trip this weekend so should become more familiar with it. This truck included the towing and offroad packages and my only planned addition is some type of bed cover...hopefully some type of tent camper option. Maybe someone on this forum knows of or has experience with a bed cap/tent option.

I like the truck, my friend has one just like that and it almost never gets stuck in mud.

Well now I have about 800 miles on my Taco and I am impressed. It is better then I expected but a little stiff with the gas shocks. Seems to ride better loaded down then empty. What I think I need are shocks that can be adjusted for the load or driving conditions. Other than that, I have no long lasting complaints. The only real safety issue I have had is with the passenger air bag indicator. While driving back on my first 400 mile trip we both noticed the passenger air bag indicator indicated it was OFF with my wife in the seat. I spoke to the dealer about it and they indicated that it should have been ON because my Taco has no airbag disable switch. I also indicated that I had folded down the back seats where I had carried luggage. They asked me to fold the seats back up to see if that corrected the problem. I did and it seams to be OK now...with someone in the passenger seat, the air bag indicator indicates ON. Go Figure...

My mileage seems to hold at 21 MPG with mixed city highway driving. I am still in the market for a camper top for the bed if anyone knows of one.
    :)

Not my first Toyota, but a new member to this forum. My first truck was an '81 SR5, 4x4, which I bought in '83. Great little truck. Had to sell it when my first son was on the way. No room for a car seat. About 7 years ago I bought a '78 FJ40. Swapped it out about a year later for a very cool right hand drive, diesel, BJ42 from Australia which I still have. Last week I bought my Tacoma, Access Cab, 4x4, 6 speed manual transmission. In the last year both my son's have bought Toyota trucks: an 80 & 81, 2 wheel drive SR5 trucks. My wife drives a 2006 4Runner. Yikes we have 5 Toyotas in the family.

Well they estimated my truck would arrive at the dealership at the end of the month...it arrived early and I couldn't be any happier with it! Picked it up yesterday and wherever I go, I take the long way! My first truck and it is so much friggin fun to drive. The clutch is pretty stiff but I'm sure it'll smooth out a little as it breaks in. I have a grin from ear to ear while I drive it!

This is my first new vehicle, and to beat all others, its a Tacoma. I just sold my 2005 Subaru STi and decided it was time to get a "big-boy" and get a truck. After talking to everyone for the past few years, I decided on the Tacoma. I've owned it for 48 hours, and couldn't be happier! I even go to test it out in a foot of fresh snow the morning after I brought it home!

Haven't missed the STi since I drove away from it.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on here, I look forward to learning from other people's advice and mistakes! haha.

I've been checking out this site since I bought my Taco in Aug 2010. Second day I had the truck right out on the beach. Probably one of the best handling trucks I've owned for driving on the beach. Doing some slow mods. When I get tired of something I change it. Looking at custom front and rear winch bumpers and a lift. And I'm trying to decide whether to buy new rims or have the stock rims black powder coated. Does anybody out there have bumpers from Iron Bull or Tactical Armor Group. These are the 2 companies I'm looking at for bumpers. Any help would really help.
