    There was a noise,it wasn't a clanking sound,more like a loud knock, when engaging.

Just purchased my 3rd Toyota truck - 2010 TRD Sport 4x4 Access Cab. Looks like a lot of great info on here. I have spent many hours browsing forums over the years, I'm sure I will this one too.

Welcome Darth!...I have a 13 DCSB with 4L AT very similar to yours. I am also new to this forum ...only a few months but can tell you that there is lots of infor here. Question, what differential did you get with your manual DC?

    Enjoy,

2-speed electronically controlled transfer case limited slip differential. Well that's what the paperwork says. But I honestly don't know the different choices.

    Why hello everyone.

I have owned a 2007 TRD 4 door for nearly two years now.

I've put it through the paces. I get up to all kinds of strange and wonderful business and my Tacoma holds up to it all. It's the kind of vehicle that you can splash through a construction site all day, clean-off, and pick up a date in the evening and fit into a car-park.

I love mine. But I am hard on it.

Apparently you can get the dealership to put in a 4-leaf axle and a better tailgate if it's got less than 36000 clicks. (I past that mile stone a long long time ago.)

I am looking at getting relentless bumpers put on mine, getting a better tailgate -- unloading the logs illustrated pretty much folded it in half-- and doing something about the rear suspension for heavy loads.

Hoping to get great ideas from everyone here on how to slowly turn my Tacoma into an abomination.

ok, rear locking diff, and the tow package. I just figured out that I got a pretty cool truck, no wonder the salesman at the dealership was looking at me l like I was an idiot

I find the my particular bed cover is great, up until the point when it isn't. That is to say the moment I have something 6' long that is taller than the box and interferes with the rolled up cover.

And it also sorts out all the finest road dust and deposits a thin layer of it on the contents of the box.

    Other than that its great.

One time I took off the license plate frame.
Got me a new taco. With guacamole and salsa on the side. We don't need no leather seats, we don't need not TRD, hey! Dealer! Leave my taco alone!

Just signed on and i am very glad to join the forum. I am here to learn a lot from the well experienced people . I don't have much to offer but i am just glad to be here ask questions, learn from you people.
I bought a 1995 tacoma, 4 wheel, 5 speed and bought it from my neighbor. The truck was parked on the street for almost six months and was not runing and had clutch problem. Fixed the problem and it drives well but from time to time i have problem with engine not starting. It has brand new battery, when it starts there is no problem and when it does not start, there is no cranking and no turning. I replaced cluch start switch, start relay, and finaly cluch start cancel switch still no help. The problem looks like intermitant.Sometimes i mess either with the clutch start or the clutch start canel switch and the engine will start and won't have any problem for a while and now i am planing to change the starter, but before i do that i am going to need a lot of support or ideas. I also cleaned the battery terminals several times.Sorry for mumbling so much but i9 am excited to be here with the community. Thank You

Be careful, I had the same issue with a '96 T100 (now Tundra). the issue was either the
clutch start switch or the starter. It burned up the starter circuit . A expensive fix, almost $1800.00.
