Hello

New to the forum--just bought my second Tacoma. I had a '99 Xtra cab 4X4 2.7L that served me well for 11 years.....270K miles later I had to say goodbye to her.

I just got a 2008 Tacoma Access Cab SR5 6-speed manual with 62K miles on it for a great price. Really digging the extra power....it's also the nicest vehicle I've ever owned. Not planning many mods for now--maybe a higher flow air filter and I definitely need to get a canopy for my canines.

My first New Vehicle

I bought a 2013 double cab 4 wheel drive TRD Sport, Pyrite Mica in May. I replaced a '96 4Runner that had 276,000 miles. I just tinted the widows last weekend, went 35% all around except the windshield. This seems to be a great forum, lots of good info and great discussion and a little BS.
I'll post pics later.

Well, I signed the papers last week for a brand new truck...

Wanted to get a 2013 to save $, but after signing, the dealer couldn't produce a single truck in the configuration I wanted (not 1 in the entire country).

So they're getting me a 2014 for the same price...

Tacoma TRD double-cab, Alpine white, 6spd/short-box, w/black heated leather Katzkin seats

Should arrive in ~3 weeks from Mexico. Pretty stoked !!!

Thumbs up New here.

Hey everyone, just picked up my first toyota a couple months ago. I've had GM trucks my whole life and grew sick of all the corners cut to make em cheap. So I took to craigslist and started looking for my first Taco. I found an 02' Xtra- cab TRD... only problem, she's got 200k miles on her. 203k now, so any info on what I can do to take her to a mil would be appreciated. Im on the Rx7 club forum as well under the same user name, so any other rotorheads out there, hit me up!

Your Hi Milage Tacoma

Your truck has the 3.4 Liter V6 engine, Toyota recommends that the timing belt in this motor be replaced at 90,000 miles. Also replace the water pump and the front oil seal while you're at it, because the water pump and seal are located under the timing belt cover and should keep you from having to make the same tear -down again Other items to look at are: the plugs and plug wires, air filter and oil filter. NGK is the brand to look for in plugs and plug wires, Toyota in air and oil filters. I had a '02 and wish I had not lost it like I did when I totaled it in crash. It was paid for and hard to replace.Good luck with your truck.

Hello to all. First time post in the Tacoma World. I must admit that the truck builds that all the Californians have posted is what caught my attention and increased my jealousy. I hope to learn a lot and start (most importantly, finish) some cool projects on my 05' Tacoma Prerunner.

well im new to this land. was on yotatech for a while
just upgraded from an 85 sr5 4runner to an 05 tacoma 4x4 double cab long bed
i kinda miss the old 22re and its simplicity but i am IN LOVE with this truck so far
cant wait to really make it mine
got it used (obviously) and its already got several inches of lift, 35s, 4.56 gears (open diffs for now), bumpers, roof rack, blah blah blah.
more to come tho, thats for sure

if the picture shows up too large i apologize (not trying to be the d bag that throws up a ginormous picture on purpose)

Dealer called yesterday... It's here.

I should be taking possession Tuesday, after the black leather is installed.

New also

New to the forum as well, this seems to be the official say hello spot. Have an '01 Super White Xtra SR5 4 banger with a Manual tranny, no mods on her, that I bought brand new all those years ago while in college. Tonya has been a great amazingly reliable little truck couldn't ask for more but do look forward to getting her eventual bigger badder brother. Those TRD Sport Pre-Runners in white sure do look nice.

John

My first new vehicle too.

It looks pretty sweet so far. I'm glad we both lost our new car virginity to Tacomas haha. Look forward to seeing how your truck turns out.

Cool New Member of TW

So stoked to have finally purchased a Tacoma. 2009 DCLB Trd sport with roof racks and shell. Low milage (around 34k)... found some hipster that never used it for anything fun or worthwhile. Hoping to give this truck the opportunities it DESERVES! Any suggestions on suspension lifts, tires, or engine mods would be great.

I Have a 2009 also, it is a Pre-Runner in the Double Cab size with SR5 V6 AT and all the buttons. Tacomas are great trucks. I'm on the third one, love it.

First Taco

Howdy, TW folks. I just drove my first pickup home tonight: a 2013 Long Bed Double Cab. Love it love it love it. Looking forward to taking the badges and stickers off and rolling clean. Will be posting to the hood scoop swap thread soon too (looking to trade my scoop - silver streak mica).

So glad to have found this site.
